Celebrating Easter at HBH! (4/19/14)

What a wonderful day at HBH as we celebrated Easter with God’s kids! As always, they enjoyed the Easter Egg Hunt, face paints, and lots of games and activities planned for each age group. They also were able to make crafts based on what Easter is all about – the RESURRECTION of JESUS!

What a great time to show Gods’ love for us…how He died on the cross for each and every one of us and is risen -seated at the right hand of the Father praying for US! The veil was torn so we can enter into His Kingdom on that glorious day!

So thankful for all of the volunteers and every child who comes to HBH and for the opportunity we have to minister to them, give our time, love and support and share the love of Jesus!

These are Gods’ kids! Precious in the sight of God… and to us!

Thank You Mr Gil!!!

Mr. Gil builds bikes for so many people and he’s such a blessing- Thank you Mr. Gil!

He attributes the ability to provide bikes from the support of 1) God, 2) All Souls Anglican Church 3) the donors of the bikes 4) the very generous people who support our bike ministry through contributions and 5) not the least of whom is the owners and operators of Lake Shore Bicycle & Fitness, Charlie Fetzer & Mark Fetzer.  To them as well as our Lord and all the others, including “His Big House”, that has done so much for the kids, we thank you and ask for God’s blessings on all.

Joe in Peru

Our ministry mourns the loss of our visionary and founder, Joe Smith. If you have ever met him you know what an incredible heart he has for the lost and for God’s children. After mission trips to the Bahamas and Peru he felt the need to reach out to the low income families of Jacksonville, FL. Joe made  Big House his life’s work and did an incredible jobof reaching out to many communities.

I wanted to share what people have written about Joe:

” If ever there was a person that left the world a lilttle better than how he found it, it was Joe.”

“R.I.P MR.JOE, I KNEW YOU EVER SINCE I MOVED TO FLORDIA YOU SHOWED ME AROUND. YOU HELPED ME LEARN ABOUT GOD. HELPED ME WITH EVER I NEEDED HIM.YOU WILL BE MISSED BY EVERONE WHO EVER KNEW YOU R.I.P SEE YOU IN HEVEN SOMETIME AGAIN. I WILL ALWAYS LOVE U AND U WILL NEVER BE FORGOT!” -Student

” Joe was one of a kind and it was an honor to serve beside him for so many years. He had a passion for telling people about Jesus Christ and he especially loved showing Christ’s love to children!!”

It is hard to put into words how hard Joe worked at reaching the lost in Jacksonville. He was truly a man after God’s own heart and we all miss him very much.
